Every Labor Day we drive 3 hours to southern Indiana for a family reunion on Eric’s dad’s side. Many traditions are embedded in this weekend. Traditions include: stopping at The Melon Patch on the way down for fresh roasted pecans, tasty fudge and of course a melon, late night card games, Sunday service at the pond and the largest ice cream cones you’ll ever see at The Dairy Barn on our drive back home. The crowd ebbs and flows every year, but Eric is proud to never have ever missed. The rain kept us under the tents more than usual but it was good to see everyone and to, of course, show off Parker. Next year he’ll be splashing in the pond with everyone else!
