Parker’s First Snow

21 Dec

At first he was not happy with the outfit. As soon as he tried to stand he lost his balance and fell backwards and then squirmed around Steve Urkel style as if to say, “help, I can’t get up!” Once he finally got his bearings and rolled over he couldn’t crawl at all. Part of it was the wood floors fault, but he was so angry. I, of course, was laughing because he looked like Ralphie from A Christmas Story. I was finally a good mom and saved him from his misery and took him outside. As you can see from the photos below he was in a better mood once he could watch the dogs chase each other in the snow.

He basically just sat there because he still couldn’t really move. After 5 minutes we were both over it and came inside to heat up. Hopefully more successful ones he’s older…or maybe we just need to get a sled to pull him around. I’m sure he would like that!

The making of the perfect raspberry is not so easy.

The deep breathe wind up. The clenched eyelids. The scrunched nose. The pursed lips. The ballooned cheeks. The properly placed tongue.

Everything must be in correct line-up before the release.

Before the release of thousands of saliva particles all over anyone within 3 feet.

I’m so proud of my boy.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

7 Sep

I’m still working on P’s 7th Month Post (btw, why does 7 months sounds SO much older than 6 months?), but in the meantime I thought you’d enjoy some pictures from Parker’s first semi-pro baseball game! I think he liked flirting with all the girls (it was college night for one the schools in Indy) over watching the game or maybe it was that the college girls preferred a cute baby over the game…either way he received lots of attention!

My favorite photo of the night ended up being one I took on my phone so I could post it via Instagram. Oddly enough he was crying like 2 secs before I snapped this because he was so over the photos. But nothing turns the frown upside down quicker than the tickle monster! Follow me on Instagram @melmatto!

Daddy is Funny!

14 Aug

There have been a few times Parker has been around non-American accents and he always ends up in a fit of giggles, so last night while eating dinner Eric started talking to Parker in a British accent and he pretty much thought it was the funniest thing ever! If we would have been at the Olympics I’m not sure this kid would have been able to handle himself!

Definition of Summer

12 Aug

You guys, I took 100 pictures of my child eating his first slice of watermelon. But the good news is I was able to whittle it down to these photos…..not sure what I’m going to do with them yet, but they definitely need to be on display every summer – they just make me happy. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a love so pure as Parker’s new-found-love for watermelon. Head over heels that kid. Can’t say I blame him. I also think I may have ruined him from ever eating vegetables. I mean how are you supposed to give a kid some broccoli after knowing there is something as sweet as watermelon?

I also learned a couple things.

1. Banjo does not like watermelon. Took a lick and walked away.

2. Knuckles likes watermelon. Picked up, carried into the middle of yard and ate it like a proper gentleman leaving the rind behind.

3. Baby does not like it when you take away his watermelon. Not even when he drops it and you’re just checking it for dirt.
